Featured, in 2002, as one of Time magazine's "100 Most Influential Personalities of the Year", B. K. S. Iyengar is universally acknowledged as the most well-known yoga practitioner alive today. Probably the most influential yoga teacher in the world, with more people following his method than any other, his classic book Light On Yoga is an essential component of every yoga library. It was responsble for opening up the practice of hatha yoga to millions upon millions of today's practitioners world-wide. Through his numerous other publications as well as his teachings, Iyengar developed the foundation of yoga as we know it today, thus touching the minds, bodies and spirits of all those who have tried it.
