Catalina Island
born, Eric Small earned a BA from UCLA and a Master of Fine
Arts from Otis Institute. As the Trustee of Stress Control
Systems Trust he is the principal instructor in Iyengar Yoga
holding a Senior Level 2 Certificate awarded by BKS Iyengar
himself in Pune, India. Mr. Small is currently also a
Trustee of the Flora L. Thornton Foundation, a member of the
Board of Trustees of the Saint John's Health Center and sits
on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Opera, the
Southern California Chapter of the MS Society, and USC/Doheny
Eye Institute. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at 22 Mr.
Small is today one of the foremost leaders in treating clients
with MS and other neurological conditions. He frequently
travels throughout the US conducting Yoga workshops and
seminars with his Eric Small Adaptive Iyengar Yoga Program.
The Flora L Thornton Foundation recently established the Eric
L. Small Optimal Living with Ms Centers at UCLA, USC, Casa
Colina, and Rancho Los Amigos which includes the Adaptive
Iyengar Program. In recognition of his lifelong work Mr. Small
is the recipient of the Hope for MS and Spirit of Life Awards
and was inducted into the National MS Volunteer Hall of Fame.
