Class Description: Vinyasa means to link movement with breath. The breath, or prana, is the gross manifestation in our physical body of the cosmic, universal life force that sustains and moves through all things. Deep, rhythmic breathing transforms the physical practice to take on the qualities of a moving meditation. Moving from point to point, breath by breath, completely absorbed in the present moment teaches structure and fluidity, stillness and motion, strength and flexibility, expansion and contraction. Our bodies move to an inner rhythm churning the flow within. In this class we will explore the multifaceted dynamics of Vinyasa Flow yoga, which can include asana, pranayama, meditation, reflection and prayer. Through the integration of alignment, proper breathing techniques and mindful intention learn how to experience the expressive and powerful practice of Vinyasa Flow as a devotional expression of life-beyond the body.
