Finding Aware Presence -- Ishvara Pranidhana

Type:       [C] "The Divine Is Within" / "Feeling The Presence"

INSTRUCTOR:
   Beryl Bender Birch

Class Description:  Ishvara Pranidhana is the 5th niyama in the classical astanga path and, according to Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, a part of the practice of Kriya yoga. Ishvara is the Supreme Spirit, and is defined in BKS Iyengar's translation of the Yoga Sutra as 'the Supreme Soul and the Lord of All and master of everything'. 'Pranidhana' means to surrender. Who or what is this Ishvara and just what does 'surrender' to Ishvara mean? Learn to develop Aware presence and find Ishvara the only place you can -- the present moment. Discussion of the awakened state and practice of japa yoga meditation.
