Given that he is now approaching 90 years of age, BKS Iyengar is filled with a vibrancy and aliveness not seen in many people 40 years his junior. These sessions will direct their attention to the "energy body" of yoga, and highlight the health-giving aspects of the practice from both the Eastern and the Western perspectives. The variety of topics covered in these sessions will range from the practical instruction in pranayama (the yoga-breathing techniques) to theorecital discussions on the use and properties of breath, to talks and discussions on nadis, shakti, chakras, kundalini and the like. Additionally some Presenters will explore the similarities and differences of the Western and the yoga approaches to anatomy, while others will teach about and discuss the increasingly acknoweldged health and therapeutic benefits of yoga, meditation, and similar practices. (Sessions will vary from 1 to 2 hrs).
