Pranayama: Building the Foundations for a Steady Breath

Class Description: In the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali says 'sthira sukham asanam' or 'posture should be steady and joyful. Once we have that steady seat, we can become more alive to the subtleties and vibrations of Life as we can see it in the breath. In this class we will begin with a few postures to create a deep and quiet steadiness in the body that will then allow us to explore the energy we use to live more fully. That energy then in its turn returns to the body and makes us richer, deeper, and quieter -- but also somehow more energized..
